Well
the first time I really remember a Kylie song was
many years ago and that song was the Loco Motion. It
was on a disco CD which we had in the house.
Sufficed to say I didn't know quite who Kylie
Minogue was at the time. Apart from the band
Erasure whom I have loved since 1997 to this
present day my other love was 'pure power pop' and
so I was into bands like Steps, Scooch and S Club 7.
However by June of 2000 I was fully aware of Kylie
due to the success of Light Years. I LOVED Spinning
Around in particular. However when Can't Get You Out
Of My Head was released I started to dislike her
music ... the exception being Love At First Sight.
However
by mid 2004 I had got my hands on her classic PWL
material and had fallen in love with the whole lot.
My favourite tracks were Hand On Your Heart and What
Kind Of Fool.
In
November 2005, whilst watching TV one Saturday
evening I caught a glimpse of Kylie performing the
classic 'Spinning Around' on Ant & Dec and I was
hooked. Kylie looked stunning in a gold dress and that was the moment when I
realised how stunning she looked on stage - but
since LAFS, there was not a Kylie song that I had
fully enjoyed.
That
changed when I heard 'I Believe In You'. Never had a
pop song sounded so perfect and so well done.
Sufficed to say that was enough to get me to
purchase Ultimate Kylie and I began to enjoy her
other Parlophone work such as Red Blooded Woman and,
at last, Can't Get You Out Of My Head.
Soon I
had located Kylie MPEG videos and my firm favourite
became a performance by Kylie in March of 2002 at
the World Music Awards in Monaco. I was instantly
gripped by her electric performance with that red
corset dress.
